Canine Crossroads is a 501
(c) (3) non profit organization that is committed to provide Service/Assistance Dogs
for people with
disabilities to improve their independence.
Since disabilities come in
many different forms, we train our Service/Assistance Dogs to meet the
individual needs of each person. We also provide dogs
to assist Educators, Therapists, Facilities
or Ministers who could benefit from an Assistance or Therapy Dog.
We educate the public about
Service/Assistance dogs, the legal rights of the Service Dog
Team and etiquette regarding all types of assistance
dogs.
Canine Crossroads provides specialized
trained Service/Assistance Dogs for clients, providing
lifetime support all at no cost to the client. We rely
on volunteers and charitable donations to provide our
funding.
(The client has the financial responsibility
to attend advanced training at our facility which includes
travel, lodging and food during their stay.)
At
this time, we are forging the way within the Service Dog
Community to provide low shedding, allergy friendly Service/Assistance
Dogs. While we are focusing on breeds with low to non
shedding coats for those clients with allergies; we have a
variety of breeds being used in our program. We are
desiring to breed other breeds for specific Service Dog
needs.
We at Canine Crossroads are committed to giving dogs a higher purpose in life by
having them provide the gift of independence!

The true
disability is not defined by whichever caused the
blindness; the need to use a wheel chair nor
requirement of hearing-aids ETC. The biggest
disabling or empowering factor is in how one lives
their lives and how they choose to treat all others
around them in response to such a great burden yet
such an honour." Author Anonymous |
